Our Virtual Reality

Experience Stand Up, Dhaka↗ through ARTCON's immersive 3D virtual tour. Presented at La Galerie, Alliance Française de Dhaka in 2022, this landmark solo exhibition by photographer Bashir Ahmed Sujan↗ introduced Bangladesh's first vertical panoramic photography exhibition. Organised by Duniyadari Archive and curated by Amirul Rajiv and Naim Ul Hasan, the exhibition transformed the gallery into an immersive visual portrait of Dhaka through a distinctive panoramic format that reimagined the city's architecture, streets, and everyday life.

Explore the exhibition through an interactive 360° walkthrough and discover a remarkable body of panoramic photographs created over nearly fifteen years, from 2006 to 2019, with additional images captured during the COVID-19 lockdown. Photographed using a Hasselblad XPan panoramic film camera and processed entirely through analogue techniques, the vertically presented images document the layered realities of Dhaka—from the dense neighbourhoods of Old Dhaka and bustling marketplaces to riverside communities, workers, and the city's ever-changing skyline. Arranged as diptychs and triptychs, the photographs create visual dialogues that reveal both the contrasts and harmonies of one of the world's fastest-growing megacities.

Produced by ARTCON as a documentary archive, the virtual tour preserves the exhibition's innovative spatial design and curatorial narrative while extending access beyond the physical gallery. Visitors, researchers, students, photographers, and art enthusiasts can experience Stand Up, Dhaka from anywhere in the world on desktop, mobile, and VR headsets, ensuring lasting access to an important milestone in contemporary Bangladeshi photography.
