Experience SHAHID KABIR STUDIO through ARTCON's immersive 3D virtual tour and step inside the residence-studio of contemporary master painter Shahid Kabir↗. Created in 2021, this documentary virtual tour preserves the artist's permanent home and working studio in Agargaon, Taltola, Dhaka, where he established his practice after relocating from his previous studio following a major solo exhibition at Bengal Gallery of Fine Arts held in 2014. It offers a rare opportunity to experience the intimate environment where one of Bangladesh's leading painters continues to live and create. Shahid Kabir is renowned for his evocative paintings and prints inspired by everyday life, human experience, and the philosophical legacy of Lalon, expressed through rich textures, painterly fluidity, and a deeply empathetic visual language.
Explore the residence-studio through an interactive 360° walkthrough, moving across multiple rooms that reveal the artist's creative and personal world. Discover finished paintings alongside works in progress, sketchbooks, canvases, easels, colour studies, pigments, brushes, palette knives, framed works, reference photographs, books, a personal archive, and the living spaces where artistic practice and everyday life naturally converge. The tour also offers insight into the artist's working process, from drawing and sketching to priming canvases, layering paint, colour mixing, framing, exhibition preparation, and the careful documentation of his artistic journey.
More than a home and studio, SHAHID KABIR STUDIO documents an important chapter in the artist's career during the 2020s. It was here that Shahid Kabir completed the commissioned portrait of Lalon Fakir for the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, while continuing to develop a body of work that reflects his lifelong engagement with humanity, memory, and the quiet poetry of ordinary life. Having studied at the Government College of Arts and Crafts, Dhaka, and later established himself as an accomplished painter and printmaker in Spain before returning to Bangladesh, Kabir remains one of the country's most respected contemporary artists.
Created by ARTCON as a documentary archive for public access, artist promotion, educational use, collector preview, and long-term conservation, this virtual tour preserves an authentic record of Shahid Kabir's creative environment. Accessible on desktop, mobile, and VR headsets, it invites visitors, researchers, students, collectors, and art enthusiasts worldwide to experience the studio where the artist's remarkable practice continues to evolve.
