Our Virtual Reality

Experience Snippets Behind Bars and Other Related Stories↗ through ARTCON's immersive 3D virtual tour. Presented at DrikPath Bhobon, Panthapath, Dhaka in 2021, this thought-provoking exhibition was organised by Drik Picture Library and brought together the voices of Bangladeshi photojournalists through photography, multimedia, installations, audio-visual works, and archival materials. Created during the COVID-19 pandemic, the virtual tour extends the exhibition beyond its physical venue, preserving an important documentary project that reflects the realities of journalism in contemporary Bangladesh.

Explore the exhibition through an interactive 360° walkthrough and discover 13 multidisciplinary projects by photojournalists and visual storytellers from across the country. Through photographs, personal letters, interviews, video, sound, installations, and documentary materials, the exhibition reveals the often-unseen experiences of journalists working under extraordinary circumstances. Addressing themes such as imprisonment under the Digital Security Act, frontline reporting during the COVID-19 pandemic, labour rights, economic uncertainty, gender equality, professional ethics, and the everyday challenges of photojournalism, the exhibition transforms personal narratives into a compelling collective testimony.

Rather than presenting journalism solely through published images, Snippets Behind Bars and Other Related Stories shifts attention to the lives of those behind the camera, offering an intimate reflection on resilience, responsibility, and the human stories that shape visual reporting. Produced by ARTCON as a documentary archive, the virtual tour preserves the exhibition's curatorial narrative and spatial experience while making this important cultural record accessible beyond the gallery. Visitors, researchers, students, photographers, journalists, and the wider public can explore the exhibition from anywhere in the world on desktop, mobile, and VR headsets.
