This exhibition catalogue documents Sourav Chowdhury’s ETERNAL EXISTENCE, a solo exhibition presented at La Galerie, Alliance Française de Dhaka, in July–August 2023. The exhibition brought together the artist’s explorations of Bengali cultural memory, folklore, mythology, symbols and everyday life through an eclectic body of prints, paintings, sculpture and installation.
The catalogue features messages from Marie Masdupuy, Ambassador of France to Bangladesh; François Grosjean, Director of Alliance Française de Dhaka; and Enayetullah Khan, Chairman of Gallery Cosmos. It also includes reflections by eminent artists Rafiqun Nabi and Monirul Islam, an essay by prominent art critic Moinuddin Khaled, and “My Words” by Sourav Chowdhury, offering personal insight into the artist’s ideas and creative practice.
Reproductions of the artworks presented in the exhibition—including prints, paintings, sculptures and installations—form the visual core of the publication, preserving a comprehensive record of ETERNAL EXISTENCE and Chowdhury’s distinctive engagement with the cultural and visual heritage of Bengal.
