Bangabandhu: Statesman of the Era documents a significant group exhibition presented in 2020 as part of the Birth Centenary commemorations of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Organised by the Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre (IGCC) and the High Commission of India in Bangladesh, in collaboration with Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, the exhibition brought together 27 artworks by 12 Bangladeshi artists and was curated by ARK Reepon.

Through diverse artistic practices and media—including oil, acrylic, soft pastel, fabric and mixed media—the participating artists explored Bangabandhu through multiple perspectives, reflecting his public persona, political leadership, humanity and enduring place in the history and collective memory of Bangladesh.

More than a record of an exhibition, this catalogue preserves a collective artistic response to one of the defining figures of Bangladesh's history. It brings together the participating artists and their works while documenting a cultural initiative that connects visual art, history, memory and the enduring friendship between Bangladesh and India.
