ARTcon Collection
- AVAILABLE ACQUISITION & PERMANENT COLLECTION
The ARTCON Collection is an evolving body of artworks and archival materials developed through acquisitions, exhibitions, artist collaborations, private collection partnerships, and long-term stewardship. Bringing together works of historical and contemporary significance, the collection reflects ARTCON's commitment to preserving, researching, and promoting the visual arts of Bangladesh while creating meaningful connections between artists, collectors, institutions, and the public.
The collection encompasses paintings, sculptures, drawings, prints, photography, mixed media, and digital artworks, alongside artists' sketchbooks, preparatory studies, handwritten manuscripts and poetry, personal documents, studio tools and working materials, and other culturally significant objects that illuminate the creative process behind artistic practice. Together, these materials form a growing archive that extends beyond finished artworks to preserve the broader narratives of artistic production and cultural history.
The ARTCON Collection is organised into two principal categories. Available Acquisition comprises carefully selected works from ARTCON's own collection that are made available for acquisition. While these artworks remain part of the ARTCON Collection, selected works may be released for acquisition over time in accordance with the collection's curatorial direction and long-term stewardship. Permanent Collection consists of artworks and archival materials retained by ARTCON through direct acquisition, gifts from artists, donations, estate representation, and private collection partnerships. These holdings are preserved as part of ARTCON's enduring commitment to research, preservation, publication, exhibition, and public engagement.
Every artwork and archival object within the ARTCON Collection is professionally authenticated, thoroughly documented, and accompanied by provenance research, condition assessment, and collection records.
“More than a collection of artworks, the ARTCON Collection is a living archive of artistic practice, cultural memory, and Bangladesh's evolving visual heritage.”
